Earlier today I was scratching Erin’s back when I felt a couple new lumps that I had not recognized before.  Sure enough she has begun to swell on her back but this time on her left side.  I hate what FOP is doing to her body.  Right now she’s happy and wanting to play.  Probably by the end of tomorrow she’ll be miserable again and staying on the couch.  Erin will also be wanting to sleep with us at night again.

Last week was just the pits.  We got hit from every angle (or so it felt like it).  There was a medical bill that needed to get paid, and I finished our part for our 2007 taxes for the accountant.  That alone was enough for me to grow more grey hair.  Then boys are supposed to be on new doses for their ADHD/ADD and I finally had the chance to get medication on Saturday.  Brennan’s meds wear off easily and Larkin sleeps in too late to take his every day (or else he’ll be up all night).  I seriously have to post a medication schedule for the kids.  Erin started Baclofen on Saturday.  I have been able to crush up the pill and put it in a small dab of peanut butter.  Knock on wood…she’s taking that medication.  So now the new swelling has popped up, I started a new round of Naproxen.

Alan took a picture of Erin’s new swelling but it’s hard to see in the photo.  We’ll take a picture everyday so we can show the progression.  It’s a gut wrenching process for me.  God only knows how this new bone growth will limit her mobility.  I could live with her right shoulder immobile.  Now the FOP is taking its turn on her left side.  Damn.
